Check your PF balance

EPFO has launched SMS services for its members who have universal account number (UAN). In 2014 EPFO has launched a UAN facility by which all the members are allocated with a unique number. Once you activate your UAN , you can use this SMS service to know your PF balance , PF passbook, Monthly PF contribution etc..

Step1.  Activating UAN 

1   1.UAN is a 12 digit portable number allocated by EPFO to its member. Your UAN number is available with your employer. You need to take the UAN from your employer and then activate it at the link provided below

2. Go to EPFO portal to know your UNA status.  Click on “Know your UAN status”

3. If UAN is already generated, you will need to provide details for verification Enter the name DOB and Email id and mobile number. The name and DOB should match with EPFO records.

4. Also you need to give a password as  after the verification you would be automatically registered with UAN member portal.

5. If  UAN is not yet allotted you will be allowed to generate new UAN.

Step2.  Sending SMS

You need to send SMS in predetermined format from your registered mobile number. The EPFO portal on receipt of such an SMS will send the members detail available with EPFO along with details of KYC seeded, last contribution, and total PF balance.

You need to send SMS to 77382 99899 in the format –EPFOHO UAN <LAN> where LAN is first three character of preferred language.

Members are given option to know the details in 10 different  language  namely English, Hindi, Telugu, Punjab, Gujarathi, Marathi, Kanada, Tamil, Malayalam and Bengali

For example if you would like  to receive SMS in HINDI, you should SMS as EPFOHO UAN HIN to 77382 99899
